Nagging pain, feel heavy on my arms even though I'm not carry anything. That's the feeling I have tu bare since last 2 years. A tiny thing but its really painful, it's like a small parasite living in my bone biting me slowly. Not much people are aware about this illness called Osteoid Osteoma or a tumor that stick in long bone especially in this small country. I can't even remember when exactly the time I feel the pain, it's started when I was on my way back from town heading home after work. Taking a long way drive to avoid the traffic during the peak hours. I feel a nagging pain on my arms when I'm holding the car steering, I was talking to myself questioning why I still have the pain my right arm after I've seen a doctors for many times. I kept on complaining about the pains day and night but I truly have no clue what is all about blankly unsure, some knows the name and some don't get to know the existing just like me but suffers from it.
The story of the symptoms, I do believe the Osteoid Osteoma has given the same symptoms to whoever has it. No matter how old you are and where exactly the diseases been spotted. For sure an Osteoid Osteoma causes dull, aching pain that moderate in intensity but can worsen and become severe especially at night. It started with very little pain in my right arms while sleeping and sometimes when I was in the mood of relaxing. One of the way for temporary pain relief by putting some hot massage oil to keep the area warm so I could sleep well at night. I have no idea how the hot massage oil works to relief the pain. Since then I became a hot massage oil collector, (just like an old nanny with hot massage oil hahaha) I keep on seeking and trying for so many brands of hot massage oil from the market for the purpose of reducing my pain. Knowing that the cause of Osteoid Osteoma are still unknown but I couldn't stop of seeking the solution to overwrite the pain. It seems to be a small tumor less than 1.5cm - 2cm and it won't grow more. That's what the doctor told me when I discovered about the pain. An Osteoid Osteoma actually is a benign bone tumor that usually develops in the long bones just like my arms. Although Osteoid Osteoma cause pain and discomfort, they do not spread throughout the body. (I really hope so) Most Osteoid Osteoma will disappear on their own over several years over the counter nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (Nsaids) such as aspirin but as for me I only took Acoxia and Tramadol to help on pain relief whenever I need. Here how the tumor looks like.
Honestly, I do not know how long more I should wait for the tumor to shrink, I have read many articles on Osteoid Osteoma and I could say 90% of the stories around the world are most similar. There's a case where the patient has to suffered for more than 8 years while waiting for the tumor to naturally disappeared, it does sounds uneasy to me especially the pains tinny. I have done few times MRI, CT Scan and Xtray that before the doctor confirming I was suffered with Osteoid Osteoma. Not much treatment can be done actually, I can choose for surgery via CT guided or just hold into it by consistently taking the pills or injection. My sceptical routine every 6 months, I have to go to the hospital to scan the tumor. There's a time like yesterday, my emotions get affected by unknown, I feel too tired of handling it by myself. I'm giving up handling the pains alone, I do cried almost every night and blaming everything but I couldn't found a solution to get rid of the pain. What best blablabla....
Things that I scared the most, I scare people will giving up on me due to this illness.
